Korean glass skin has become one of beauty’s most coveted ideals. That translucent, dewy, almost light-reflective complexion is everywhere. But beneath the high-shine imagery is a more interesting question: what actually makes skin look luminous?

At WALDOR, we believe it is rarely one product, one device or one facial. It begins with understanding the skin first.

That philosophy is at the heart of our HydraGlass Facial, a bespoke treatment developed around the individual condition of the complexion rather than a fixed treatment sequence.

And recently, that approach was experienced first-hand by Vingt Sept, whose editorial feature, “Korean Glass Skin Comes to Fitzrovia: Inside WALDOR Clinic’s Bespoke HydraGlass Facial,” explored our Fitzrovia clinic, HydraGlass protocol and personalised approach.

Here, we take you behind the treatment itself: why we begin with analysis, how we build the protocol and what happens when Korean-inspired innovation meets a genuinely individual skin strategy.

“We don’t believe in treating the trend. We believe in treating the skin.”

Before the first cleanse, the skin is assessed.

Our AI-powered facial analysis creates a detailed 4D picture of the complexion, examining characteristics including hydration, pigmentation, pores, oil balance and visible indicators associated with skin ageing.

Why does that matter?

Because skin can be deceptive. A complexion may appear relatively clear while carrying underlying pigmentation. It may look dull when dehydration is the real concern. Congestion, excess oil, sensitivity and signs of environmental damage can also coexist. The assessment gives our practitioners a more informed foundation from which to build the treatment.

This is where HydraGlass becomes distinctly WALDOR. Rather than asking a client to fit into a predetermined facial, we adapt the protocol around what the skin presents.

For this particular HydraGlass consultation, the skin assessment revealed a combination of congestion, hormonal breakouts, pigmentation, dullness and dehydration. The priority was to clear and refine the complexion without compromising hydration, while bringing greater luminosity and balance to the skin tone. LED therapy and a HydraFacial element were introduced alongside the core HydraGlass treatment, each serving a considered purpose within the wider protocol.

The result was not simply a sequence of beauty steps, but a carefully considered strategy shaped around what the skin needed.

The treatment begins with a thorough double cleanse using our HydraGlass cleanser, preparing the complexion for the deeper stages that follow.

Our Korean-inspired HydraGlass technology then gently exfoliates the surface while helping to loosen impurities and congestion within the pores.

Next comes a mild salicylic acid peel, selected for its suitability within a protocol addressing excess oil and congestion. Targeted extractions follow, focusing on areas that require attention rather than treating the entire complexion aggressively.

This preparation is particularly important when congestion, dullness and an uneven skin tone appear together. By refining the surface first, we create a more considered foundation for the hydration and radiance-focused stages that follow.

Once congestion has been addressed, the skin moves into a calming phase. A sulphur clay mask helps rebalance the complexion, followed by high-frequency therapy. Blue LED light is incorporated as part of the acne-focused element of the protocol.

Each modality serves a distinct purpose, allowing the treatment to work in layers rather than relying on a single technique. And that is central to how we approach Korean glass skin at WALDOR.

It is not simply about making the skin look glossy. It is about creating the conditions for a complexion that appears clearer, smoother and more hydrated.

“For us, personalisation isn’t a finishing touch. It is where the treatment begins.”
– WALDOR Clinic

Only once the skin has been thoroughly cleansed, refined and treated do we turn our attention to the characteristic HydraGlass finish.

The final stages incorporate WALDOR’s PDRN-focused skincare, bringing hydration and luminosity back into focus. The result is not an artificial, reflective sheen, but skin that appears fresh, smooth, deeply hydrated and naturally illuminated.

The distinction may sound subtle but in practice, it changes the entire philosophy of the treatment.

A truly considered treatment should have continuity. That is why the HydraGlass experience can be supported with WALDOR’s own skincare collection, including the PDRN HydraGlass Serum, Eye Cream, HydraGlass Cream and Longevity Pads.

The idea is simple: professional treatment creates an opportunity to reset the skin, while thoughtful home care helps maintain that approach between appointments.

Rather than chasing Korean glass skin through an ever-growing collection of products, the focus becomes consistency: understanding what the complexion needs and giving it the right support over time.

Technology is part of what makes HydraGlass distinctive. The real difference lies in how those elements are brought together: analysis before treatment, personalisation throughout the protocol and continuity afterwards.

That is why we don’t describe HydraGlass simply as a glass-skin facial. It is a more considered approach to skin health and visible radiance, designed around the person rather than the promise of a trend.

Because at WALDOR, we believe true glass skin is not about perfection or making every complexion look the same. It is about understanding what makes your skin different, knowing how to work with it and revealing the skin’s inherent vitality beneath the noise.
